Moving Insurance at AK Movers

While we take great care with your belongings, there is always a small chance that damage may occur during your move. At AK Movers, we offer insurance coverage for all our customers’ items. The standard liability for licensed movers is $0.60 per pound per article. However, you can purchase additional coverage at a rate of $30.00 per $1,000 of declared value. A minimum fee of $100.00 covers up to $5,000 in goods valuation.

If you’d like to purchase the minimum or higher valuation insurance, please inform the foreman before the move begins. Our movers are trained to report any damage to you immediately. In case of damage, please notify the foreman right away and follow up with a letter within one week of the move. Mail the letter to our Claims Department at our office.

Before securing additional insurance, we recommend checking your homeowner’s or renter’s insurance policy. Many policies already cover moving-related damages, so it’s worth confirming before purchasing extra coverage.
